There never seems to be enough time, right? Especially if you have kids, it’s not uncommon to feel spread too thin and to crave a much more balanced life. So it wasn’t surprising to us to read that a new Pew Research Center survey has found that working parents say they feel stressed, tired, rushed and short on quality time with their children, friends, partners or hobbies.

In nearly 50% of two-parent households today, both parents work full-time. One working parent tells The New York Times that figuring out how to manage work and parenting is a nearly impossible task: “You basically just always feel like you’re doing a horrible job at everything. You’re not spending as much time with your baby as you want, you’re not doing the job you want to be doing at work, you’re not seeing your friends hardly ever.” Add to that increased demands at work and astronomical daycare rates, and life becomes a constant challenge!

So what can we do about it? Not all of us have the ability to take massive amounts of time off from work whenever we feel overly stressed; nor do we all have the desire to cut back hours from our jobs—because honestly, working hard and being able to afford luxuries in life can be fulfilling!
