Technology changes at astronomical rates nowadays, and the future is no exception. Within just the next 10 years, we are going to have all-new technologies become a part of our every day lives.
Here’s a sneak peek at what scientists and researchers foresee being commonplace in the not-so-distant future:
3D Printing:
Although we may not all have a 3D printer sitting in our basement ready to churn out new replacement pieces for our bike just yet (although that is an inevitability further down the line), it will be available for you to use in various retail settings. UPS and Staples have already begun offering such 3D printing services, though it is still limited.

Autonomous Tech:
Although you may have heard of some isolated incidents with autonomous cars, overall, the concept of autonomous driving is incredibly important and could affect shipping, public transport, trucking, and even aviation. It’s safe to say that this technology is here to stay, and within the next decade, you will undeniably be using it in some fashion or another.
Drone Delivery:
It’s true – Amazon and Google are both already working on developing drones that will have the ability to deliver packages within minutes of a customer making an order. However, there are still several, large, kinks to work out before you can start clicking the ‘drone delivery’ box on Amazon Prime, such as how to deliver the packages safely, how to deter robbery of the drones, and how to deposit the package at the door.

Augmented Reality:
Augmented Reality, or AR, is when a system overlays digital data on real-world scenes. We have already seen glimpses of what AR can do with Google Glass and, the more successful, Pokémon Go, but it is going to be even more prevalent once Microsoft rolls our their new Hololens system, which has the potential to change the technological market forever.
Robotics:
Last but not least, everyone’s favorite – robots. We are still a ways away from having an army of robotic servants at our disposal, but we aren’t that far from having them work as security guards and nannies. Hell, we already have them monitoring parking garages and zipping around warehouses.
