You probably know that stress, anger and fear are less than ideal for the body, and that people who are happier tend to live longer. It’s important to remember that laughing is really good for us, too. Laughing triggers physiological responses in the body that help reduce stress hormones, fight disease and, as an added benefit, laughing actually burns some calories. Sometimes as we age it’s possible to adopt a ‘been there, done that, seen that’ attitude than can negatively impact the potential to see humor in a situation. Just because you may have laughed at something once or twice already, doesn’t mean you can’t again. Laughter can be a gift that keeps on giving and keeps you living.
