Garlic

Garlic is known to help with several conditions, but most scientific evidence points to reduction of high blood pressure. Before you get put off at the thought of sporting garlic breath, read on. It is best taken in pill form, preferably in a softgel, since they’re better absorbed by the body. The recommended daily dose of tablets ranges from 500-1000 mg in divided doses. If you’re breath-confident, you can chew 4-5 cloves of raw garlic a day. But don’t throw them in the skillet: Allicin, the key chemical component in garlic which lowers blood pressure, is practically destroyed when cooked.
