Laser hair removal can be a great solution for removing back hair permanently (some people will need a touch up every year or two.) The key things to keep in mind are:
- It costs a decent amount of money ($150 to $200 for the back and up from there if you want to add other body parts: shoulders, upper arms, etc.). You can usually negotiate package deals, or wait for a Groupon or something like that.
- It can take five or more treatments to permanently remove hair (depends on your hair, the laser setting -if you can handle more intensity, do it – and the spacing between treatments – you want to go consistently every 5-7 weeks, whenever the hair starts to grow back. Inconsistent frequency equals diminished impact).
- The laser needs pigment and differentiation to work:
- If you have light hair it won’t work.
- If you have gray hair it won’t work (though, fortunately, hair on the back doesn’t go gray as fast as the hair on your head.
- If you have dark skin or tanned skin it won’t work.
