To try superbrain yoga, place your left hand on your right ear lobe, your right arm over your left arm on right hand on your left earlobe. Gently press into each earlobe as you squat down and come back up, inhaling on the squat and exhaling as you stand back up. Try to hold each squat for 2-3 second, and try to do about 14 squats. Step by step pictures are available here.

According to the Queensland Academies in Australia, superbrain yoga “energizes and activates the brain by synchronizing Alpha brain waves, reduces psychological stress, improves psychological stability, results in intelligence and creativity, and promotes functioning of the brain.”
It works by stimulating neural pathways in the brain by activating acupuncture points on the ear lobe. The left ear lobe activates the right brain and the right ear lobe activates the left brain, according to a study out of the Institute of Pranic Healing.
It might seem like hippy mumbo jumbo, but many swear to its benefits. And even if you try it and it doesn’t work for you, at least you’ll probably have a better butt.
Brain Food: Scarily enough, by 2025, the number of people age 65 and older with Alzheimer’s disease is estimated to reach 7.1 million people — a 40 percent increase from the 5.1 million age 65 and older affected in 2015, according to the Alzheimer’s Association.
And just like so many other bodily ills, some brain degeneration can be linked back to that ubiquitous culprit inflammation. In his book Brain Maker, neurosurgeon David Perlmutter, MD, gives evidence of the link between the body’s inflammation and the slide to neurodegenerative conditions like Alzheimer’s disease, as well as the general age-related dementia.
“In Alzheimer’s patients, biochemicals that indicate that inflammation is occurring – inflammatory markers – are elevated and can even be used to predict cognitive decline and the development of dementia,” he writes.
