FOOD INTOLERANCE TESTING:
A food intolerance or sensitivity could be the unidentified bane of your existence, with common chronic symptoms like depression, fatigue, mental fog, anxiety, gastrointestinal problems, skin issues, joint pain, migraines, or bloating. An intolerance or sensitivity differs from a food allergy in that they are not allergic reactions and no IgE antibodies are produced. The tricky part about intolerances is there is no one agreed-upon or confirmed way to measure it, causing some practitioners to assert that food intolerances only exist in the mind of the sufferer.
Other, more natural practitioners, look for food intolerances immediately as underlying culprits.
“The reason it’s more challenging and why some people are not always aware of what food is making them sick is that the reaction could take place anywhere from four to 24 hours after they’ve eaten that food,” said Erina Kastrati, D.C., M.S., a chiropractor at Chicago Natural Health and Chiropractic, who uses food intolerance testing in her practice.
The list of possible food culprits is infinite, but Kastrati, said that typical problem foods are those that someone eats every day.
So, within this theory, it’s entirely possibility that your tennis elbow could be inflamed because of that daily banana, or your ever-present bloating is caused by your huge kale said you have for lunch every day.
And even if you don’t feel that you have any nagging complaints, these tests also give you an insight into what foods work best with your body. And everything improves when you optimize your diet.
