Many of us who are on social media have seen or heard of the term “clean-eating”. This phrase has had a different meaning to many. But, the same underlying purpose is that you are vowing to consume foods that are raw, pure, and perfect. For many this excludes meat, processed foods, sugar, gluten and many other food groups.
For Jordan Younger, a famous wellness blogger in New York City who had published a $25, five-day “cleanse” program that sold 40,000 copies, it was very extreme. Her diet was sugar-free, oil-free, grain-free, legume-free, gluten-free, and raw vegan.
Jordan thought she was the healthiest she had ever been. Then, at 23 her hair started falling out in clumps, and her skin was orange which was very alarming to her. Jordan Younger then sought psychological help, and started to change her diet. She immediately started to feel better but didn’t want to let her followers down and was worried or what they would think. Jordan was unfortunately slammed with negative comments and even threats on social media. This is common from clean eaters who believe their diet is the only way of life.
